302 Hi Pro  : (26 January 2012 - 05:20 PM) lancerboss302: I am running a mix of 8 gallons Sunoco GT 260 100 Octane and then filled up with 93, I don't get on her much in the high rev range, but she runs strong and idles smooth. I will run her on 93 octane this year and then higher octane next year for track days.
lancerboss302  : (26 January 2012 - 04:49 PM) unleaded VP 100 Octane has anybody tried this fuel on their bosses
302 Hi Pro  : (26 January 2012 - 12:32 PM) Iceman302: Pretty much, flirt with 5,500 to 6,000 RPM on occasion. The car is getting better with miles, only at 427 now. I'm not treating her like a baby, I'm just not stomping on her either. Sure is fun when the rev start to climb!
SeanL  : (26 January 2012 - 12:29 PM) I am breaking mine in using moderate throttle. No need to baby it since they are modern engines. It's a good bet it was redlined before the engine even got installed.
DanF  : (26 January 2012 - 11:28 AM) DFW dealer that has demonstrated success with Trackey flash?
iceman302  : (26 January 2012 - 12:16 AM) 302 Hi Pro... you are really babying it on break in. I've got 600 on mine now and she's flirted with the redline several times now.
SeanL  : (25 January 2012 - 08:00 PM) If you are gentle with the throttle it will try to force you into 4th instead of 2nd, just in case some of you have never had it happen.
302 Hi Pro  : (25 January 2012 - 09:01 AM) Thanks again guys, Iceman302: I noticed the Skip Shift light when I took 1st gear to about 2,700 to 2,800 rpm. Usually I shift below that RPM, only 427 miles now.
LSECO  : (25 January 2012 - 02:18 AM) 302 HI PRO...the skip solenoid connector is the top one \'/
Racin Jason  : (24 January 2012 - 11:50 PM) what skip shift light. haha
iceman302  : (24 January 2012 - 09:39 PM) I've got a little over 500 miles now and I've never hit the skip shift. It must be my driving style.
302 Hi Pro  : (24 January 2012 - 08:56 PM) SeanL: Thank you, whew! I got the right one, I was lucky to get some good weather and I saw the Skip Shift light come on, went in to 2nd just fine, but then I started to wonder!! Again thank you sir.
SeanL  : (24 January 2012 - 08:39 PM) found some info for u Hi Pro: http://www.stangnet....p-shift.828582/
SeanL  : (24 January 2012 - 08:38 PM) Allfordmustangs.com forums had a quick description of how to do that a long time ago if I remember right.
302 Hi Pro  : (24 January 2012 - 08:26 PM) Ok question on Skip Shift: Right side rear of transmission there are two plug connectors, one high and one mid-level. Is the Skip Shift connector the upper one? or the lower one?
302 Hi Pro  : (24 January 2012 - 03:08 PM) Great Ariticle on "Mustang Madness" Grassroots Motorsports Magazine, and the Boss 302 named Editors' Choice! A great read. All the best.
Harley  : (22 January 2012 - 09:31 PM) Haha sounds great till the orders start rolling in and I can't keep up.........
Poole1  : (22 January 2012 - 09:04 PM) Take some pics of the finished product Harley. Then run down to the patent office...could be 4,000 units out there for ya !! lol
302 Hi Pro  : (22 January 2012 - 08:16 PM) Harley: Sounds good, after you cut the carpet, you could take it to your local carpet dealer and have them bind the edges, that will give you a nice manufactured look. I was just thinking out loud, sorry, but it sure would look nice.
Harley  : (22 January 2012 - 06:52 PM) I think I'll just use 3/8" and paint it with some satin black paint I have to seal it and then stretch the carpet over it.
302 Hi Pro  : (22 January 2012 - 05:53 PM) Harley, That is good news, what type of plywood will you use?
Harley  : (22 January 2012 - 05:42 PM) Pattern made for my rear seat delete today. So far I have zero dollars into it. I'll get the carpet this week and ply wood and should be a piece of cake after that.
95Blitz  : (21 January 2012 - 08:33 PM) yeah buckeye thats the same way i do it now. i use to grip the ball but i found myself pushing the shifter over
whiteboss  : (21 January 2012 - 07:32 PM) BOSSbuckeye I am sure every car is a little different but all I can say is the Steeda Shifter made a world of difference in driving my car. You can up shift and down shift with confidence and for the total price with rear mount bushing and delivery for about $330 it was well worth it. Very easy instructions to follow for the install and good quality materials used.
BOSSbuckeye  : (21 January 2012 - 06:54 PM) You have to let 3rd find its self, you go trying to find it and jam it in you will probably miss every time. I just put my palm (no fingers) behind it and push forward.....money every time.
95Blitz  : (21 January 2012 - 05:58 PM) Yeah even with what I put i'm still getting an MGW...
nccstud  : (21 January 2012 - 05:39 PM) Not everyone is so lucky 95Blitz. Some people have tons of problems doing just that. And for the people with problems, replacing the shifter has made a world of difference
95Blitz  : (21 January 2012 - 04:27 PM) You just push stright up with the factory shifter and it hits 3rd everytime...
Fordified  : (21 January 2012 - 03:50 PM) Just curious. I thought the shifter used in the Boss wasn't the same as ones used in the V-6's and GT's? Isn't it a "different" shifter? Missing a 2-3 shift is really frustrating to say the least..
302 Hi Pro  : (21 January 2012 - 03:25 PM) Whiteboss: How about that spongy rear shifter support? Any changes made there?
whiteboss  : (21 January 2012 - 08:57 AM) I finally recieved my Boss Mustang and have driven it for about 250 miles. I can not believe that Ford has installed the same shifter that they use in the V6 and other Mustangs into the Boss Mustang. The odds of hitting a good 2nd to third gear shift with the stock shifter are pretty low. I thought I needed more time to get used to but it only got worse. Another frustrating feature is the skip shift function. Might look good on paper but not very good in practical use. I disconnected the solenoid at the transmission and installed a Steeda Tri Ax shifter and bushing and what a difference. There is no way you miss a third gear shift with the Steeda Shifter. Just push straight up and in you go. If anyone is having issues with shifting, make the changes that I made and you will be very suprised at how much easier it is to drive the car. Other thatn these issues I think the car is great.
Griz at Ford...  : (20 January 2012 - 04:08 PM) Hi Everyone new member here been told I should check this out by customers I've sold Boss 302 too
302 Hi Pro  : (19 January 2012 - 11:07 PM) Great article in The Feb 12 Car & Driver on the Boss 302LS - Lightning Lap #6, The LS kicked it! They just loved the car and "lapped it until the tank ran dry".
iceman302  : (19 January 2012 - 10:50 PM) No problem, airboss302. If you drop the passenger rear seat, is it a lot more pronounced?
airboss302  : (19 January 2012 - 06:19 PM) Nccstud - I don't seem to have that issue. Let us know if you figure it out.
airboss302  : (19 January 2012 - 06:17 PM) Thanks Iceman. I think I'll monitor this for a while and see what happens before I take it to the dealer.
nccstud  : (19 January 2012 - 10:33 AM) Just wondering. I have a rubbing sort of sound that occurs when the car is under any load. While driving if I put the clutch in the noise goes away, then comes back when I engage the gear again and give it gas. It's annoying!
iceman302  : (19 January 2012 - 12:58 AM) airboss302 - I think I noticed the same noise today. I only heard it when I had the seat down. I thought it might be the fuel pump or something.
airboss302  : (18 January 2012 - 08:33 PM) Changes as you slow down and disappears (can't hear it) at less than 10 mph. Disengaging the drivetrain by taking it out of gear at speed has no affect. Unless it is related to the Torsen system (never had that before) I can't think of what else it could be. Brakes are not dragging either.
airboss302  : (18 January 2012 - 08:30 PM) Nccstud: A whirring almost like gear whine has started to come from the right rear. It is relatively easy to hear at highway speed. The frequency cg

BOSSMAN75  : (18 January 2012 - 01:44 PM) Harley - sorry for the late response, yes all was pre-cut. All I needed was a spray bottle and a blowdryer. Oh yeah and a squeegee that comes with the kit.

airboss302  : (17 January 2012 - 05:51 PM) I think I have a right rear wheel bearing going south. Anybody else have this problem?
LSECO  : (16 January 2012 - 07:18 PM) 302 S ?? I want one !! What's up w/LS 755??
