Guys I have done all the research I can possibly do on this forum and the other Mustang Forums. I went ahead an put my order in for a 2013 Grabber Blue based on not hearing any negative feedback on the transmission. It appears that Ford has made changes - including revised snychros on 2nd and 5th gear. Im not wanting a '13 tranny bashing thread - I just want feedback from current 2013 owners as to them being pleased or not. Again.. I just really could not find any complainte regarding those early folks with '13 boss's.

Where did you hear there have been transmission changes? Boss only, or for the V6 and GT also? Does the transmission have a different part number?

Can't be that many 2013s in people's hands since they were just released for the stripe issue and the few that got out before the hold.

I picked up my '13 today and in the 33 miles I've put on it since then, I've not felt/heard anything abnormal. Granted, it's not even broken in yet, but definitely no grinding or difficulty getting it in gear.

Got 400 miles on mine and the trans seems fine so far. I love not having the 1-2 grind that I had in my GT500.

The shifter in my 13 302 is not very nice compared to the Hurst Shifter that is in my 08 SGT so I ordered MGW shifter and hopefulley that will make it more notchy. The transmission seems fine but the shifter has to go

I think he means that you know that the car really is in the gear you want. That you feel that clunk into place and not as much slop.

Just over 100 miles on my '13 GB and so far, working like a charm! But I would not expect to have issues this soon.

Is there any more feedback on the 2013 transmission? Does anyone know if the part number actually changed for 2013?

Has anyone had any of the lockout issues reported on 2011-12 GT's and Boss 302's?

The transmission, shifter etc. are all the same for the 2013. They did use a different Manual Trans fluid, based off my insider at Ford. I have 2k miles on my Laguna Seca, and its shifts like butter.

I would say that I have noticed a stickyness in 2nd gear occasionally. I have just 400 miles and have not had any hard shifts yet, so time will tell.

Mine is hit and miss. Some shifts are super smooth, and some are just crap. Probably my timing and all. I accidentally went from 4th to 3rd yesterday, worst feeling of my life. Car literally burned out while driving, it was scary, I was attempting to switch into 5th, rpms shot to 6000. Its a pain in the ass to drive sometimes, but I am getting use to it. 1st to 2nd is getting better, but I cant find the ideal friction point. The clutch is so deep, I find I modulate it too much during shifting, because I am scared to just step off after half way. I also hear linkage sounds during shifting, sometimes it feels like im driving an M1 tank.

I'm glad this was brought up. I'm curious if any changes were made from the '12 to the '13. I just traded my '12 Boss (5,000 miles) for a '13 Boss (now ~380 miles). Although I didn't feel the '12 shifted terribly, from the 1st mile I felt the '13 was MUCH better shifting, even "cold" (relative term...this is Florida). The '13 isn't even broken in and it feels that it shifts better. Reverse seems easier and no notchiness...my imagination or was there a true improvement made?

Reverse is definitely smooth. I do get a scraping sound once in a while, I guess I am feathering the clutch for too long. That happens in first also when I am doing 3 point turns. I am still learning to reverse park at home. The car just looks so much more bad ass when the garage opens in the morning.
