On a side note (not too far off topic, as its tranny related) I ordered a Boss looking black shift ball with the same rounded looking white letters, for my 350. Can't wait to get it threaded on. Not keen on the factory knob in these 350's.

;)

I would think your mileage is so low BB that nobody had a chance to mess anything up. If it were say 20K I may wonder. Also the OEM tires should show very little wear even though they wear out quickly due to compounds. Agree the red/white is a combo the more you see it the better you like.

I may have missed this question on this (and other threads here) and if so, I apologize!

But, if you don't track these Boss cars, are you likely to experience these tranny issues???

Curious....... Thanks!

Not only trannys (shift lockouts) but clutch pedal return (many remove helper spring), clutches themselves, brake fade (tracked), strange engine ticking problem after oil change, drive shaft change outs popular (from 2 piece) and a few things I've probably forgot about.

Have had absolutely no problems with mine (5YO, bit under 3K on OD). Not everybody has all the same problems and tracking doesn't seem to make much difference aside from accelerated wear and tear from those that aren't. At least from what I can gather.

Believe even though the Boss is well advanced beyond a GT some things can be improved upon. But that depends all on how it's driven I'd say. Ford maybe planned on having a small percentage actually raced compared with the mainstream purchases? And age probably has everything to do with everything. Me, glad to be well beyond all that (mostly).

Sounds eerily similar to the Tech Pack 350 issues they're having.....

They build these cars and market them as "Track ready from the factory" and forget that the Tech Pack cars can't handle track usage and heat and now have a whole lotta guys pi$$ed off!!!

First thing I did on my new 350 was change out the clutch return spring to a STEEDA unit. The car had maybe 50 miles on it that day.

HUGE MISS! The STEEDA spring totally changes the car!

Edit- Admittedly for a different reason on the 350 however.....just say'n.

No idea where the rest of them are on here BB, know I can't be the only one that likes to read on your accomplishments. Hurricanes not helping things I 'spose; seem they all show up at once, forum has many guests and members that have never posted anything. I just think of stuff to keep the ball rolling lol......

Forgot, did you get your Boss yet? Look forward to reviewing your findings and comments and comparisons with your other cars. Hopefully still help for us all.
