Had the reverse/first issue as well but after doing a bit of adjusting on the lockout pin and breaking it in, I couldn't be happier.

Yikes - it's been too long since I've been on the site, let along posted anything.

FWIW - I'm still digging my RSpec v2 MGW.

Recently decided to complement the shifter with one of these (CJ Pony) aftermarket rally shift knobs.

(many here have done the same I suspect)

Really like the look and feel of the larger-diameter knob.

Anybody that has done this upgrade on their Boss knows that our shift boot is non-standard and you will need to order a special shift boot retainer.

I went a slightly different route. I just picked up a jam nut and painted it black to hide it.

The advantage of going with a simple jam nut approach (rather than boot retainer) is that it allows you to screw the shift knob down further on the post (by about 1").

This effectively shortens the throw on your short-throw shifter.

I really like the tight feel of the shorter throw.

To keep the boot pushed up against the shift knob / jam nut, you may need to insert a spring under the boot and over the top of the RSpec post.

Hope ya all are getting some good Boss-time in with the warming weather.
