Just spotted this. For $59K in '07 a Parnelli Jones 302 (no mention of Boss) could be had, built by Saleen. It's uncanny, had about 400 advertised HP and almost a twin to our cars for way more money. Made 500 of them I guess, not a clone......Attached File  image.jpeg   123.43KB   0 downloads

Hi Rich B:

Good find, it's part of the Steve Saleen Heritage Edition Mustangs. He built and offered the black, red and white 1969 Bud Moore Engineering Boss 302 rendition in 2012. It was the George Follmer numbered Boss 302 Mustang.

Link: http://saleen.com/saleen-gf.html

I have a set of these rear wheels, 19X10", and still looking for the matching 19X9.0" front wheel set. These are some of my favorite Mustangs.

Thanks for posting,
302 HP

There is a 07 Saleen that runs at Blackhawk Farms, my local track.  He has fun, not all that fast.  I doubt 400HP.  I always pull him on the straights with ease.

I had a PJ for awhile they were a stroker 4.6 to a 5.0 with ported/polished heads, big valves, big cam, high compression forged internals and so on which on Saleens dyno did 370 bhp but with Saleens wonderful build quality mine sucked down 1 Quart of oil every 400 miles with rod knocks and random misfires for good measure I ended up trading it for a Pantera

Might be cheaper to just buy the whole company.  Sadly, there's a large ad running in the classifieds section of Automotive News about the liquidation of the Saleen organization.  I'm no expert, but it seemed like they made some neat stuff.  The S7 still is up there on my list of all-time faves.

Wow I didnt know the PJ was N/A I just assumed it was F/I to get that power number haha.

On a side note, steve saleen is a crook on par with John Hennessy. Just look at what he did to the S281 guys. Oh and the SEC looking into the SLNN stock.

Ok now thats out of the way, I really do like some of the vehicles like the S281, S7 heck I even like that PJ edition.

Started this topic almost 1 1/2 years ago LoL. Thought I'd go here as the intake/exhaust forum is too active to interrupt. So I just bought the Accufab 84.5 mm throttlebody. Beautiful piece, would make a great paperweight, can look at it then more often. Feel the 90 mm would be too much and have read the smaller 84.5 mm actually outflows the 90 mm (who can say for sure?).

Bought on Ebay for $490, brand new. Same vendor also had them for $498, not sure why? My engine does NOT have the factory spacer which it seems you remove with the upgrade, but why wouldn't you reuse it with the new TB? Theory is they're supposed to create more swirl /velocity with the intake air. Now mine doesn't have this (looked of coarse), just no spacer at all.

So the intake manifold orientation tab for the spacer must of been cut off on mine as the TB was mounted direct, without the spacer. I would of kept it if I had one, maybe they're of a smaller ID or conflict with the new Accufab throttle plate? Only those that have made this upgrade already would know, I'm waiting 'till Spring, car's tucked away out in the shed now.

Also my understanding is the Ford Performance version is the same thing made by Accufab. Gains are reported but I'm keeping the OEM intake array so not really looking for anything. Will my motor actually make at least the 444HP as advertised? Bet it's pretty close with all the subtle upgrades so far......Attached File  image.jpeg   20.75KB   0 downloads

This is a good buy Rich. I have the Ford Racing one but it's private labeled for Ford by Accufab. I believe the OEM one was 80MM and these bolt on TBs are a simple mod that do help gain a wee bit of HP but every bit helps!

Thx TS, I really liked the Ford Racing (Performance) one but all considered and for upwards of $100 or more, I sacrificed LoL. But too I really liked the Ford Racing axlebacks with those full length polished tips (Borlas I understand) but for $597 free shipping, no tax, couldn't believe it for the Corsa Xtremes. Cannot find them now at all from JC Whitney. They even asked me what I wanted to pay but wouldn't go quite that low (mentioned before someplace here).

Apparently Whitney had a quota to fill for their vendor price but ended up not selling a lot of those muffler sets and wanted a close out. I also bought my K&N air filter through them and believe it was around $25. Think their K&N cabin filter was way low too, they have big discounts also as I used one for an additional $50 off their muffler price quote and it was accepted.

It's been years since I flipped through a J.C. Whitney catalog .

I'll give 'em another shot.

Anybody want to trade their 85.5 for my brand new FRPP 90 MM T.B. paper-weight ?

I know LSECO, I gave up on Whitney years ago but their on line site is pretty smooth, completely revamped from the old days and those newspaper page catalogs. I was surprised, can't recall how I stumbled back upon them.

Thanks on asking on the TB trade. Considered the 90mm but it cost even way more than the 84.5 version, could never reuse my OEM intake and from what I read on, a tune is required for fuel enrichment or they run lean.

I can't say, being left hand I understand everything backwards anyways. Had a hard time when I learned how to do calligraphy, writing would always be in front of my hand not behind as a right handed person. Would smudge all the time especially with the broad tipped fountain pen nibs. I learned though, Gothic my favorite. Computers replaced the writing by hand too though (incursive), don't believe it's even taught in schools these days.

Awesome Fords, yes indeed.

And at first glance, the Folmer wheels look similar to the stock Boss "wagon wheel" look which have grown on me.

I must admit that this color combo is very wild and unique--- I likes it !!

Finally , a Saleen 'Stang meets my approval.

Still have the Pantera !

Awesome Fords, yes indeed.

And at first glance, the Folmer wheels look similar to the stock Boss "wagon wheel" look which have grown on me.

I kept the Pantera for a few years it was a lot of fun but ended up selling it to a guy up in Reno who restored it

I saw one of these at a car show back in 07.  It looked pretty good but something didn't sit right with me about it but can't remember.  This is was the time when everyone and their grandmother was coming out with some specialty Mustang. Some worthy but too many simple cosmetic and dubious mechanical additions such as CAI etc.   It's interesting to see an asking price so high.  As a car, it's nowhere near worth that, and as a Mustang I think it's a novelty at best...IMHO!
