Hello! I picked this beauty up a couple months ago with only 800 miles, still had plastic on steering column! Unfortunately, the original owner passed away shortly after purchasing. I had a similar medical condition that I beat, with God's help, so there's a bond with the original owner (David.)

The car was driven occasionally by his son, who isn't a big Mustang fan. He was however happy that it was going to a diehard Mustang enthusiast, just like his dad.

Mods are BMR Rears/Panhard, Barton/Flatstick, Boss SpeedDawg ball, Red stitching using UV marker, No Baffles, Tail Tint, Hawk Pads.

Next week BMR LCA/Relo, RST Clutch/Lightened Steel Flywheel/MMR Cooling Mod get installed in prep for recent purchase: Red Whipple Stage 3/MMR OPG/CG.

This is my 16th Mustang, so I named it "Sweet 16." I'm extremely grateful to own this steed. I believe I've saved the best for last.

May I ask why your Boss seats have red stitching. Standard seats have white stitching. Did you dye it? If so what did you use and how did you do it.

One last question...What shifter is installed in your Boss. Is that a HURST??

Thank you, Tyme! The Whipple deal comes with a free install, so I'll just be busy with the easier mods. You have one awesome Boss yourself!

Hi Ginger! Yes, I changed the color using Sharpie Extreme Fade Resistant permanent marker. I used a fine point red sharpie on the outside of each letter to reduce bleeding into the black fabric. It was a tough decision to undertake, but thankfully it paid off.

The shifter is a Barton short throw with their Flat stick handle option. It has a 40% throw reduction and is totally quiet. I used a rubber gasket as well and made sure to put the boot back on correctly.

Sweet 16 is indeed sweet! You too were able to purchase a "New" 2013 Boss 302, IMO. She is beautiful, and you certainly have a HD Mod schedule planned for your Miss Sweet 16.

I'm sure that like me, many other Boss 302 Forum Members would love to read and see pic of your epic build. Please consider starting a new Thread on our Fourm to document your build.

Thank you for posting,

Thank you, Hi Pro! Let me know which forum it should go in and I will do that. I appreciate all you do here to keep the Boss spirit alive and kickin!

Mjscc1, thank you as well! I was not a fan of the '13 Boss in Race Red. For some reason I did like it on the '12. And then something happened...

...the family and I drove out to Clearwater Beach right after looking at a GT500 (that I was all set to buy), and I said "what the heck, let's go look at this Boss since we're out here." When we pulled up to it, my daughter and I looked at each other with both of our jaws dropped! It was our first time seeing a race red Boss, in living color, and we were blown away! The color, when in the shade, along with the front splitter, was just drop dead gorgeous! Never again will I form an opinion based on a picture.

Needless to say, the GT500 was going to a different owner. Now that I've ordered the Red Whipple blower, I feel as if I have the best of both worlds. A Boss 302, with the power, and whine of a GT500.

Great car! I also own a '13 in Race Red, but its my first Mustang. I like the idea of the red embroidery, looks sharp. I also went with the same shift knob. Welcome to the Boss club!

Thank you, Tnelson184 and LS239! It's a dream come true to be in the Boss Club.

I just ordered the GT350 Black Coil Covers so the stock blue ones don't clash with the red blower. After blower install I'm heading down to BMR to see if their hammertone Strut tower brace will work with the Whipple. I'd like the blower to be the only color when I open the hood.

My impatience got the best of me again. Looks like the BMR Strut tower ($139 Jegs) is going to work with the Whipple since the stock brace has about the same clearance. Loving the GT350 covers ($69 CJ Pony). Sacrilegious to some Boss owners, but a necessary part of a bigger plan.

John:

Will you ditch all of the sound insulation, (sides front and rear), of the Boss 302 IM? Might be wise with the increased heat of the Procharger.

Good luck with your build,

The sides won't fit with the Whipple. Not familiar with fronts or rears. Any more heat saving tips would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

The front and rear sound insulators are just under the bottom of the manifold. Be careful removing the rear insulator as it has the 2 knock sensors running through 2 holes. You'll have to cut the rear insulator in 1/2 to remove it. Use a wall paper trim razor knife, it works well for this purpose.

I can't tell any difference in noise level. But she runs cool and hasn't seen temps above 202 degrees on hottest of summer temps here on the east coast in July/August.

Good luck, and hope you do post up a full install report. OBTW, will you do the install?

Thanks for the tip! The supercharger, oil pump gears, and crank timing sprocket are being installed at the shop I purchased the kit from. The reason I'm not doing it myself...FREE installation! It was a deal that was simply too good to pass up. The shop comes highly recommended due to experience, attention to detail, and character.

Thank you. It's a stage 3 Whipple kit. 750hp:

https://whipplesuper...&product_id=334

It's making a bit more due to my 3" catback and a race/93 gas mix. I still have long tube headers, smaller pulley, and a custom Dyno tune waiting. Will need a fuel system first.
