I'm seriously considering a tribute style ('69 Boss) rear louver kit.

I only want the BEST for my LS.

Can anyone throw me a bone here ?

MRT is what I run and Very Happy with it. No plastic here!! Follows the body lines very well and will lift to be able to clean the rear window. Only thing missing is the chrome hinges that would be on the 69.

Go with the Aluminum if you can Harry. It's a tad heavier but the plastic ones fade, become brittle with tyme and can warp on you.

I think the War Horse would be Dyn-o-mite with these louvers.

I'm concerned about airflow to the spoiler.

If its air flow that concerns you then your title is misleading. If you ask me. If your trying to get as close as you as you can to a 69 and worried about air flow. I still say the MRT is they way to go. Just the angle of the louvers and being built out of alum. It's a win combo in my book. However I have no aero proof. I run the louvers because all I care about is the look. And the MRT has that look and quality!.

Just remember that the louvers are built to mounted with double sided tape unlike the 69 hinges are screwed to the roofs body line. Everything now a days is peal and stick because everyone thinks there ride is going to be worth big money and don't want to drill a hole into the body. .. Hell I can remember in my early years I had no problem drilling anywhere on my 72 formula firebird / 70 Monte Carlo / 74 Charger.

To be honest with you. If MRT produced an exact rear louver as the 69 with chrome hinges mounted to the roof, they would be on my Boss today. People today are to worried about modifying a car to one personal taste because they think it will be worth real big bucks. Even the LS guys....Sorry if I offend you or any other LS guy. I wish I had the cash but I don't. It took me 6 years to pay off and that will end this april. Because if I did my car would be at Kingdigit design  This guy does amazing work that fits my taste. I would care less about him cutting or welding on my Boss while he turns it into a one of a kind piece of art that I would drive very proud. Yes others wont like it. But you build a car to fill your taste Not Others.

Same thing came up a ways back on hood pin sets and drilling holes in the hood. OEM existed back in '69 or maybe they were dealer installed. Deck spoilers only actually work at say 100 MPH and upwards and in 69', today still they have them tilted (were adjustable) backwards...... Worked like drag-chutes lmao. See if I can find photo, this is close. Attached File  image.jpeg   159.99KB   2 downloads Nobody seemed to know what they were supposed to do.

Love those rear mud flaps. I guess for when you took your Mustang mud bogging. :drop:

It floors me when I see things like that and we though were cool. to much free love in those days!

it's amazing how 3-d printers and CNC machines along with water jet machines have changed the game completely.

Those were the days my friends,, I'm surprised I can even remember the late 60's and 70's

Yes Ginger, those were the days, and I'll never forget the American Master Machinist who thought me the art of a Bridgeport Milling Machine. No CNC, all parts were meticulliously crafted to within thousands of an inch. Fond memories. His name was Author "Artie" Hoosier, (not the rubber). He was a WWII 8th USAF B17 50 Cal waist gunner that survived after left his leg was severed by an FW-190. He was happy to report "But we got'em". A Great American from Philadelphia, PA. He and Fitz KirPatrick would say, "How is everything Ole' Boy?" I was but 18 years old.

Ok back to rear window louvers, I have to agree with Ginger, MRT makes a great product.

Good luck with your shopping,

Dear Ginger Man:

I never said I was trying to get as close to '69 as possible.

You can Drill on your Boss until it looks like Swiss cheese. It's your Boss, so drill, grind, chop, cut,all you want.

Personally I don't agree with that one IOTTA.

A rear louver might help keep my interior a smidgeon cooler in the upcoming heat out here on planet EARTH.

The thought of red louvers even entered my
mind.

Chrome don't get you home ! Homie !

And I wish I had DEEP pockets!

I didn't pay my LS off with an emmediate cash pmt.

I owe. I owe. Off to work I go.

LSECO, you are funny, makes my cup of morning coffee (now it's good for you). I had a set of louvres on the back window of my L'il Red Truck, they were a plastic, held in place by the rear window gasket. Did keep the interior cooler and eliminated the fish bowl syndrome with that window right behind you. Only problem was keeping the dirt out, cleaning window and such, had to remove the louvre (forgot all that completely).

Darn, this could be my old truck with exhaust tips angled out, tonneau strut holders & snaps and louvres. I didn't have running boards, had traction bars and chrome step up rear bumper.Attached File  image.jpeg   394.4KB   0 downloads Mine had additional oak strips along the top edge of the bed too. Bed wasn't finished oak, in mine I had a perfect fit indoor/outdoor red carpet (they breathe) and I'd carry anything. Had flap also that extended over tailgate. One time put a plastic sheet in back and completely filled up with chicken manure (wife's idea:().
